Berenice by TWT - Speed, a baby on the way and a night rainbow!

Today we sailed under the A4 again all day. Speeds soared throughout the day with everyone hitting low 20's and the top speed seen was 23.3 knots with the squalls pushing the breeze up to 32 knots. Turns at the helm were quite demanding so we again drop the gennaker just after sunset and we're running with the full main and jib on port tack. Our heading is 240-265 depending on the wind which shifts a lot in intensity and direction during the squalls that constantly wander by.

In the afternoon we received an email with the big news that Topo, our bowman and rigger, is expecting a second baby so we all cheered for the new Topino or Topina on the way and the mood of the whole crew today was quite festive.

To finish things off, just after dinner, and while a big squall had passed by and the moon cleared on our aft, we spotted the rare spectacle of a night rainbow. Right there, on our bow, the light from the brightest moon you can imagine, being refracted by the little drops of rain of the passing clouds forming this huge arch of light, water and beauty. A night rainbow, bloody amazing! so we cheered for that too!

Good winds and seas to all,
TWT Sailing Team
