4 days to go. Security check passed with good advice and 2 notes;
missing space blankets from grab bag - were not available at store.
Done now. Connections testing ok, still some issues in receiving the
GRIB files, but will be sorted out - courtesy to David - before the
start.
The Skipper has kept a strict work camp policy this far, but otherwise
everybody we have met have been nice people.
Participation in ARC seminars yesterday and today has really paid out.
Emergency rigging, emergency management, provisioning, weather and
routing, first aid at sea. Great! As the Master chef on boat,
(although Peik claims HE is the Master and I'm the sous-chef - remains
an arguable fact) the most releaving fact was Clares opening line on
provisioning: basically the only thing you need is water, man can
survive 3 weeks without eating. Yes.
Nice people and good advice. On top of that each morning a practice
session at Real Club Nautico 50 meter sea water pool. Getting prepared
is cool!
