Samsara - Getting ready for Australia

July 18

We've been in Port Vila, Vanuatu, for a few days. Yesterday we went abseiling down a 50 meter waterfall (in 2 increments) - we had a blast! The girls did it too. Sam and Sarah had a guide go along side them but they managed it very well. The park where the waterfalls are is just gorgeous. The setting was stunning, pictures to follow......

Now we're doing the provisioning/fueling for the trip to Mackay, Australia. It's probably going to be an 8 day leg (more or less.....). We are working on using up all the meat....on board as Australia is very strict on quarentine items.

While here we had a first - the girls found a seahorse near the dingy dock at the end of the seawall where the boats are moored. We were all so excited to sea a seahorse in the wild - we've only seen them in aquariums before - so it was very exciting. They have of course been exploring all of the sea life - different types of star fish, hermit crabs by the hundreds.....

Off to the skipper's meeting, we've got a lot of reefs and islands to dodge on this next leg - it's going to be a more involved leg as far as navigation goes compared to some of the earlier legs.
