We just left Bora Bora after a few wonderful days there. We spent a lot of time at the MaiKai Yacht Club - lots of fun. We went to Bloody Mary's - that was really cool - the best tuna steak I've ever had in my life. Everyone enjoyed the food and the atmosphere was great. I'd recommend that one if you are ever in Bora Bora.
The dinghy race was a lot of fun - the girls were on the kayak, Lee in the walker bay dinghy and the rest of the groups in their various dinghys and a few swimmers. There were eggs thrown, water gun fights, buckets of water tossed on the competitors and the boat hook used to pull other boats that were ahead. A good time had by all. Sam and Sarah were taking it a bit seriously and were screaming as they couldn't remember the course (it was a bit complicated). So that was funny too!
We snorkelled today and saw black tipped reef sharks, several lemon sharks around 7-9 feet, assorted fish, and one large octopus. Lee especially really loved the octopus.
Then we put the dinghy and kayak on board and now we're off to Niue. The rest of the fleet started on Wednesday but several of the boats (maybe 5 or so) decided to wait and enjoy Bora Bora for a few extra days.
Sun just set and we're sailing along...
