Trillium - Log 6-It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood!

For those who grew up with Mr. Rogers, you would understand. It has been a wonderful three days of sailing. Good wind most of the time, sunshine, full moon ... Whatelse could you ask for? All is peaceful and serene in our mid-ocean neighborhood. Unfortunately we cannot see any of our neighbors anymore. We hear from them every morning and every evening.

After leaving the lulls at noon yesterday, we have been moving along at a very comfortable 6-8 SOG with little heeling. You could not ask for more perfect sailing. We have only had to motor for 34 hours and 37 minutes overall. Trillium is a happy gal! And the crew is happy to be less than 300 km from Bermuda.

It has been nice to have everyone eat in the cockpit at the same time. We have been fishing everyday. So far we have had a tuna and a mahi mahi in the pan and a barracuda and two more mahi mahi on the lines. One of the mahi was huge, but we lost him when bringing him up the stern. At least I did not have to change the nightly menu! So we had Chicken Cacciatore for dinner. Followed by a beautiful night of sailing under the full moon.

Sailing Fast,
Skipperette (Sherry Day)
