Crazy Horse - April 7

Well, the captain certainly had different ideas about resting yesterday. He was ready at early morning hours to get over to the Tobago Cays and see the sights there. We had talked about it but were thinking perhaps of the next day to move on. But as I said Bill had different ideas so we took off for the Cays. We motored through a narrow passage to get into the anchorage at times only having 6 in. underneath the keel. Matt and I were up on the bow watching and praying. We made it in and saw Eowyn and Thor IV on moorings.

We found a place to anchor and Anna, Bill and I went snorkeling. We saw some turtles of all sizes, many fish and coral. Bill and Anna went out far enough to see a large ray. Anna dove down and came up with a large conch to show us a living breathing conch in action. I never realized they had a large claw near the outside of the shell which looks like it could cause quite a pain. Of course she put it back right in the same place to live a long healthy life here in the protection of the park. We climbed up the small hill to view the wonderful Cays and the large reef surrounding us. I think in the end we were all glad we had come to enjoy these islands.

It was quite a rolly night with lots of squalls and rain. Bill and I spent most of the night on anchor watch making sure we didn't drag anchor down on the large schooner behind us from the USA called Eros. I think Matt and Anna didn't have too much trouble sleeping however. Though Anna said she was up to check during the night too.

This morning we have had 4 or 5 vendors come by and offer supplies and souvenirs. We did purchase a shirt, some croissants, and hopefully later today , some fresh tuna. We will stay here for today and wait for Jeannius and already Brown-Eyed Girl has arrived. Tomorrow we will probably head off to Bequia.

Rosemary, Bill, Matt, and Anna
