Crazy Horse - Thurs. Jan.13,2011

We successfully left Capetown today with the help of the Frenchman and Charles handling our bow lines due to the high winds. Both OJ and Crazy H are on the path to St. Helena. We are about 5 days behind the fleet. We have the engine on now passing through the traffic separation lanes. Once past that we will raise our sails and be off. It is a beautiful sunny day with the wind out of the SW at 8kt. That is certainly a lot different than the winds we faced in the harbor. All the lines and fenders are stowed away and we set out on a path across another ocean-the Atlantic. That is where we started from by Virginia Beach, VA. Quite a few miles away but now we are on the path back.

Matt and I already had the conversation of what's for dinner? We decided we deserved a steak for tonight so that's it. So steak and stir fried veggies is the menu for tonight. It has been quite a while since we have watched the stars so they will be our familiar friends, I hope. It will take a little adjustment but we already are reminded of our roles. It is good to be off once again.

We met some great folks here in South Africa. Perhaps one day we will return or they might come visit us on our side of the ocean.

Rosemary, Bill, and Matt
