Voyageur - Log day 211- 'Tis the season to be jolly!

26 December 2010

Boxing Day and now we were invited for a traditional Christmas lunch aboard Tucanon. Crackers, party hats, turkey with all the trimmings, Christmas pud, mince pies and Christmas cake, throughout which we played endless silly games of charades. The afternoon into evening concluded with a DVD, 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' on their big flat screen TV. Dick has over 1000 DVD's on board! A good time was had by all. David and I returned to Tzigane for a few rounds of Rummycup by which time the wind was gathering strength for another post Christmas blow whence we scurried quickly back to Voyageur.

We thought it was about time we had another wine tasting and a top up of our onboard "cave", so along with Jenny and John we headed over to Constantia Valley, the cradle of South African winemaking and only a fifteen minute drive away. There are literally dozens of vineyards within this area and we recognised many of the big names. We could spend weeks going around them all. A good thing we are leaving next week, Voyageur's bilges are bulging and just perhaps our livers too!
