Crazy Horse - Nov. 16

Crazy Horse and crew have now moved down the coast of East Africa as far as East London. We  had to come in here at the suggestion of our weather predictors who said it would be nasty out there today. We are here anchored in the harbor with, Ocean Jasper, Destiny, Voyaguer, Basia, and Lady Lisa.

They were talking about winds of 40 from the SW which would mean the current and waves would have been more than uncomfortable. The other night the current was so strong we only could go at a speed of .9-2kts. That was hardly even worth the effort of being out there in all the crazy conditions. So we decided to wait this one out and hope to have a better window when we continue.

This morning all the capts will gather with David on Voyaguer to consider what to do next. In this case lots of minds come together to make the difficult decisions of whether to go, try to make it, or stay and wait it out. All of us here have some kind of timeline of our own to consider in all this.

Just thinking that the South Pacific was just so much easier. Now we even appreciate it more than ever. Well, don't mean to whine so much. There have been some amazing sights and people we have met so far in Africa. Yesterday we saw that wonderful humpback whale and her youngster playing around. The game reserve was just unbelievable. The Zululand Yacht Club was so kind and friendly to us and the Zulu dancers were just so energetic and athletic.

So I have to remind myself of the blessings along the way of our path around to Capetown. Sorry you readers have to put up with the whining but at least you are not getting the glamour only of this journey. My friend Corinne has probably been taking in most of my whining. Thanks to Corinne who is also a therapist and I can just feel her wisdom and comfort through the airwaves. It can be an emotional, spiritual, and physical journey which is always not so comfortable. But some people who have wisdom would say that is the way we grow. At that rate guess we will all be about 12 ft tall at the end of this!

We hope to be back on our path later today well on our way to Capetown.

Rosemary, Bill and Matt
