Crazy Horse - Nov. 6

Just wanted to say I am pleased that Matt decided to finally write a blog. You can really get a feeling of our family functions aboard Crazy Horse and at home with our other children and their families from that entry. That is pretty much the humor and emotional banter that we use with each other. It keeps things hopping and there is usually never a dull moment.

We are about 437 miles from our waypoint off the coast near Richards Bay. Some of the boats have arrived at the waypoint and must wait until the weather calms down before they can proceed through the channel. So they will wait there with sails down and motors on until the waves and current abate somewhat. We are about 90 miles from some of the boats that reported their positions today. Perhaps we will catch up with them in time for a passage with them. Ocean Jasper is close behind us so they will perhaps make the passage with us too.

We are motoring again this morning since the wind has died and we want to keep up our speed. Bill and Matt were able to fix the clue of the jib while the wind was light. Someone said that if something can break on a boat it will and it is better to fix it before it breaks. Of course it is impossible to replace everything so we just do it basically one thing at a time. Sometimes parts can be gotten by other members of the fleet if it is an emergency or we are not close to a chandlery. That saying that a boat is a thing in the water that you pour money is surely true!

Guess we will see what sails to put up today- not much wind- but.....

Rosemary, Bill and Matt
