Talulah Ruby II - talulah's tales

We are now only 180 miles from St. Helena. It has been a frustrating 10 days with very little wind, but our position in the race is good. Our biggest headache has been the spinnaker,4 broken halyards, resulting in the sail ending up in the sea, with all hands needed to retrieve it.Not much fun in the night when you've just gone off watch! Then someone has to go up the mast to do repairs, this job seems to have fallen on Nick, who has galliantly climbed up 4 times in rolling seas.We think we have finally solved the problem for now and are trucking along again flying the spinnacker at 8 knots. The weather is getting much hotter ,so lots of sunbathing ,book reading ,and I have even repaired the ensign (is it going to last) Bernar has caught his first ever fish,a tasty Dorada. We have now crossed from the East to the West side of the planet and our slowly completing our circle back to the Caribbean.Everyone on board is well, and really looking forward to lots of cold beers in St. Helena,as well as a rest before the 1900 miles to Brazil.

We all send our love.

Paul Andy & De Talulahrubians.
