Cleone - Leg 16 Day 4 - We Survived!

The Skipper cooked, we survived.

Much to our surprise, the Skipper's evening meal was edible, and it did not actually poison anyone.  At least, nobody has reported in sick this morning, so presumably all is well.  However, he gets a second chance; he who cooks supper gets to prepare lunch the next day, so we are not out of the woods yet.  But tonight, it's the Big One.  Alex Armitage gets to cook again.  And he's warming up by making pancakes for breakfast.  It looks awesome, but I will report back.

Apart from that, it was the usual sort of day at the office.  The sun shone, the current was with us (our friends in Viva reported two and a half knots yesterday evening), the wind was behind us and we shot along eating up the miles.  The wind went light for a bit (Bruce calls it "pulsing" in his forecasts), so we flew the Mizzen Staysail for a time, but we really did not need it - Cleone was soon back up to hull speed without it, so down it came again.  Today's run is not a record, but at 175 miles, it is only one mile short of yesterday's total.  Not bad at all.

All well with us, and best wishes to everyone,

James, Norfy (Chris) and Alex
