Cleone - Leg 14 Day 4 - And on we go!

The weather's improved and it's been a cracking day.

The wind moderated and veered yesterday afternoon, out came one reef in the tired (but not very old) Mainsail, out went the rest of the Genoa, and up went the Mizzen staysail.  Since then, we have been making excellent progress along the top of Australia.  The only slightly spooky thing is that of Australia itself there is no sign.  This part of the Northern Territories must be very flat, and we are wondering what Darwin has in store for us.  And this morning the sun put his hat on so we removed the other two reefs, and the Mizzen Staysail is poised in the cockpit ready to go aloft if needed.

Norfy is cheerful; the food stocks are holding out well, and there has not been a single crisis or near crisis with warm or non-existant beer in the Red Lion.  The Skipper continues to wrestle with the tides.  There are narrow passages and strong currents on the approaches to Darwin, and we need to arrive at the right place at the right time.  Lets hope he gets it right, otherwise the last few miles will take forever.

All well with us, and best wishes to everyone.
