Rhumb - Log Day 3

Early morning saw our arrival at Marina San Miguel, whereupon, David and Len confirmed their decision to travel home, so flights were organised for Thursday morning.

With the fantastic support of the ARC organisers, we were put in touch with Pepe, the local Raymarine engineer who attended the boat during the afternoon, but unfortunately the repairs he made did not do the trick as the problem remained. It was decided to replace the complete drive unit, and this was placed on order with Raymarine in Spain, with planned delivery and installation on the following Friday.

A quiet day then ensued as we all dealt with the ongoing disappointment of further delay and the sad departure of David and Len. Anyway, we enjoyed a good meal on board in the evening, shared a glass of wine or three and made the best of a bad job, regaling each other with tales of yore and even older jokes. Should we have had a full bottle of anything on board, the cork would have been thrown overboard to help appease our tales of woe.
