OOROO1 - Parasailing on Day 4
Day
4 and the Parasail has been up for 48 hours giving us about 7.5 knots on average
in inconsistent winds averaging 15 knots, average 2m swell and heading south
west looking for the trade winds and maximizing comfort, NOT speed. No yachts in
sight since yesterday evening and only one tanker to deal with. Fishing line out
today with the hardhead 6” squidgy and a teaser. Seen dolphins and whales and a
few shearwater birds. Not much sun to recharge the solar panels, overcast nearly
all day so the Genset has had to do a bit of work. Only one spewer on
board but the captain is happy as he gets to eat the extra tucker. More food for
everybody. Banana stork ripening fast so the captain needs to eat about 10 a
day. Could be a banana cake coming on soon. Took our first water samples for the
MicroPlastics research, turned the eggs, one rotten tomato gone overboard. Proud
of ourselves with Day 4 AFD (alcohol free days). Under 2300 nm to go
!!
