Exody - Day 11 - 20th November - More of the Same Please

After our arrival unreasonably early at 02.30 on Day 7, the whistlestop tour of Santa Antao and Sao Vicente (Days7/8), the restocking, the perennial internet hunt (Cafe del Mar got plenty business)and the ARC+/SOS charity farewell gig - Days 9/10), its good to be at sea again. Our log shows a days run since yesterday's 13.00 start of 160 miles, our best yet under sail- well mostly- just one hour's motoring to clear the shadow of Santa Antao. We bad farewell to Agnes - who finally got her cooking sealegs in port to 'advance cook' for our next leg - and welcomed Kathy on board - who seems to have arrived from Twickenham complete with sealegs fitted! It was a beautifully clear day for the start- without too much acceleration (or exhiliaration) zone and very little of the lighter winds that were forecast at the briefing. We were soon settled into a comfortable reach with 15-20 knot winds from the northeast and by nightfall over 25 ARC + 'stars' surrounded us with most visible right through the night. By morning it was down to Reberth, Shira, Lydia and Calista (what's a cat doing back here with us monos?) with a handful more unidentified on the horizons. Oynas has just come within range and Lydia now well out of view. We were treated before nightfall to amazing dolphin displays- backward double flips etc plus a pod of small whales. A little rain in the night and a few squall clouds have now given way to a classic trade wind sailing day - just need another two weeks of the same please.
