Aviva - Simple Pleasures

After several days and nights of making the most of moderate to fresh breezes for easting, last night as the winds moderated we decided we could reef a bit more overnight than we might have otherwise, and get better sleep. What a concept, and what a pleasure, walking about the cabin and cockpit sans lurching, and sleeping flat versus pressed into side of the boat. I think we are all feeling refreshed today.

Next in the simple pleasure realm, as the wind dropped below 10 knots, and our speed dropped to 3.5, and the cloudiness of the last few days gave way to full sun, and the temp broke 80 degrees, that blue, blue water started beckoning to us. At Mark's suggestion we hove to and took turns bathing (Joy dish soap laters in salt water!) and cooling off, off the transom. What about sharks? Since we've been fishing for days on end with no success, we concluded that there are no fish wherever we are, thus nothing to sustain sharks.

Finally, we had mushroom/red pepper/onion/sausage pizza for dinner last night ... venison burgers and potatoes on tap for tonight ... we are eating simple but good. Sleep, sail, eat, sail, swim, sail, read, sail, knit, sail ... each day follows the next. It looks like some periods of light winds are in store for us, so we may be doing some motoring. At this time we don't see any heavy weather predicted for our route.
