Arcarius of Plymouth - Blog Arcarius

Caught on the wind today from Arcarius

With the farewell party behind us, it's time to reflect back on the week here in BVI. The big voyage ahead ought to have caused a flurry of activity the morning before the sails are set for the epic journey across the Atlantic. Instead as I looked out from my port hole the scene across the marina was serene and tranquil, interrupted only by the call of the pelicans and the snoring emanating from a near by sailor confirming to the ARC, flag regaled boats on the mooring that the crew of Webster and Arcarius were still to wake and discover the severe head pain that is inevitable after the excesses of a successful farewell party. And the devastating realisation that the Painkillers consumed last night would be of no use this morning.

Arcarius looking resplendent in the subtle morning light flying her ARC flags to declare to the marina that she is poised ready after a recent makeover to carry her crew safely across the Atlantic. She is now virtually ready for the task ahead. All safety briefings and checks have been carried out and passed. The fuel and water is on board and stowed away and a trip to the local supermarket has proved starvation will not be a concern but that poverty was inevitable once the bill was settled.

After thorough deliberation and consideration regarding the passage the Skipper has decided "he's going north!"

This brings us to the close of today's blog and just leaves this message for you all.

The Skipper and crew of Arcarius would like to wish you a safe crossing and to remind you that throughout the duration of the trip only our stern will be visible to the fleet!!!!!!
