Starla - Log Day 18 - Downwind best day yet

Hello Everyone,

Distance logged today - 186 nautical miles. Distance to date this trip - 2227 nautical miles. Remaining miles to St Lucia 900.

Not that much to report today, a steady day of downwind sailing in a big confused Atlantic swell. We managed to cover the best day distance completed to date.

The wind has been 18-22 knots from the east. We are sailing south east, below the direct course for St Lucia on port tack. At some point we will gybe on to starboard tack and make out way back up towards the direct route.

No fishing because of the conditions, and the fact that we have a couple of days supply in the fridge. The provisions are lasting well thanks to the supplement from the fishing successes. The fresh water is lasting fine as well, and we still have 120 liters of emergency water.

A clear night without any squalls, the morning brought the sun, making it another sunny day.

We are all very tired, but know that this will work itself out, as the conditions improve and the miles build.

Regards,

Starla Crew
