Firefly - A flying fish came to visit

Peter started his morning watch at 9.00 AM to see an extra body on deck! A flying fish had taken a wrong turn and landed in the cockpit. Sadly it was too late for it and was buried at sea-and they don't make good fish stew!

We are expecting consistent North Westerly winds from now on into Antigua with good winds of 15 to 20+ knots. Our last 24 hour run is our best yet,194 miles, just missing the holy grail of 200 nm a day. This should make sailing the last 630 miles (yes we are counting them down)a fun sail and those days of drifting a distant memory!

Yesterday evening we were called up by one of the Mini Transat single handed sailors on board Marcel Forever. We were the first people he had spoken to since he left Lanzarote a day before us. Marcel was making good progress to Guadalupe 13th in his class despite having fuel cell problems meaning an extended stay in Lanzarote. He did not have the luxury of turning the engine on when winds get light. He was clearly tired - who wouldn't be sailing for 15 days on your own? and curiously he managed more sleep in stronger winds when he does not need to look for wind.

Although we don't see the Rising of the Moon we do now see it clearly in the early evening to the West acting as a good navigational aid until setting around 10 PM local time.

Paul, Murray, Peter and Grateful(not being allowed near the Bimbo Magdelenas)
