Mustique - Reasons to be Cheerful.....

I guess its my time to write the blog......I cant believe that we have been at sea already for two weeks, but there are still quite a few reasons to be cheerful.

Reasons to be cheerful..Part 1. We have passed the 1000 miles yet to go mark!! This means that even if we only manage to maintain the same speeds that we have for the last week, we should be in St Lucia by the weekend.

Reasons to be cheerful.. Part 2. Its Sunday and its Sunday roast time. Especially with this day in mind, I managed to sneak into the freezer a whole leg of lamb, and as I write, this is slowly away in the Ramoska - I even managed a sneaky visit to Marks and Spencer's before we left to pick up a jar of mint sauce.

Reasons to be cheerful.. Part 3. We have wind!!!! OK, will, it still early days, but we are working our way towards a big high pressure system and I am hoping that later today, we will be picking up the N/E flow from this, which should freshen over the next few days and carry us straight into St Lucia.

Reasons to be cheerful.. Part 4. I know that I will probably jinx this, but so far, so good - all the systems onboard are running well and we dont have any major issues to deal with (apart fom, of course, one of the toilet pumps, which you have already read about earlier - spare parts are winging their way to St Lucia as we speak ). Our water tanks are full, the fridge and freezer still have amble stocks and the bar is holding up well, despite 4 bored crew trying to get through 5 windless days on a row!! We might be a little short of fuel, but at least we have a plan and wind to back it up. I'm not worried, honestly!!!

Reasons to be cheerful.. Part 5. I have just been back into the lazarette and found three spare bottles of a really nice Rioja, that is going to go down really well with the lamb later.

Reasons to be cheerful.. Part 6. Robs (God Bless You) Mince Pies. These are going to from a major part of post lamb digestion - heated and served with a little fresh cream, hmmmmmm!!

Reasons to be cheerful.. Part 7. Blue skies ahead, and we can see them!! Right now, it great roast lamb weather ( not too hot and overcast), but looks like we are heading to better weather.

Reasons to cheerful.. Part 8. Tune in tomorrow for the next instalment of this mammoth Atlantic crossing!!!

Fin Out!
