Duplicat - Sunday 8 December

Big maintenance job yesterday with a deck fitting which holds the spi sheet and port main preventer which had sheared being replaced, with loads of boxes being dragged out to find just the right size of nut, bolt, eye etc. needless to say nothing matched but a double eye has been expertly fitted by skip and first mate. Managed to sail all day with kite up, fished, lost a big mahi mahi, hooked a small one which we threw back. We have had all sorts of strange animal life come aboard, flying fish, a largish squid found on the coach roof rain gutter (glad that was discovered before it started to honk) 2 locusts, and yesterday a poor little egret far from where he should be tried to get aboard but with no luck. Awarded ourselves a Superbock sundowner on a normally dry ship because it had been a busy day, then the wind died and we motored for hours. This morning have gybed onto port, kite up heading for below 15 south and just enjoyed our Sunday brunch!!!
