Lancelot II - Day 11 - Pirate DJ's take to the seas once more

This may be our shortest blog so far (we’ll see), not just because it’s my turn to write it (I’m usually quite‘efficient’ where communication is concerned) but mainly because we’ve not really done much in the last 24 hours. That’s not to say we’re sitting in the middle of the Atlantic stationary though as we’ve had the Gary (Spinnaker) up and have been heading pretty much in a direction just south of St. Lucia averaging a tidy 7 knots throughout. But, that’s the sailing summary!

In other news, taking advantage of the constant shorts-only weather conditions we’ve been taking some time to chill a little, sometimes in the cool shade of the mainsail but on occasion moving out into the full glare of the sun to warm up. Not to change the mood of the day, yesterday evening saw our most chilled and imaginative sunset meal yet (a cous-cous, pumpkin and sausage affair) with some very appropriate tunes supplied by Pirate DJ Stevie Won-darrrrhh (we also know him as Matt). Everyone has caught up on washing clothes and bodies using the abundant amount of salt water at the back of the boat (the freshwater maker appears to have taken early retirement) and apart from some items drying on the guard rails the boat is quite literally ship shape and Bristol fashion. Even Jacko managed to remember to wash the contents of his bag this morning (he’s had socks flying from the push-pit as a reminder for the last few days but as a ‘to-do’ list that method needs looking at as they’ve been out of sight and out of mind). I think that’s all for now so I’ll sign off and get some more cream on before I return to the blistering afternoon watch.

Noontime love from Rob and the crew of Lancelot II.
