Firefly - On the beat

The team are not pleased,we all signed up to downwind sailing and sunshine. Since our last log the wind has increased significantly (hitting 34 knots last night) but its coming from the South West, so we are close hauled and to make it worse it has been raining since last night. We can get this stuff any time in the English Channel so not worth sailing 2500 miles for (that's how far we are away from Salcombe). Its all damp and grey and we are reminiscing about similar days in the Celtic Sea! Sailing can be cruel. We hope our war with the unexpected low pressure system will be over by the end of the weekend when the Easterly trade winds take over.
