George - Has the butter melted yet....

NO! It hasn't. We thought it was melting as we sailed further south but it turns out that one of our crew's Spanish is a bit rusty and the butter turns out to be margarine! it melts at a far lower temperature as we all know and it could have meant us turning west far too early. It's the little things that matter you see. Fortunately we are using other navigational aids in addition to dairy products....Meanwhile we continue to sail in good winds at 225 degs to our chosen way-point for today, level with the Cape Verdes. The grib files are not showing any sign of any trade winds due so we may just decide to turn right in any case and deal with the head winds if and when we reach them. We have two days to decide. Our first flying fish landed on the boat this morning with a rather startled look on it's face. Was it the luckiest fish in the world or unluckiest?...MK 1000 29th Nov 21.02N 23.48W 7.5 kts @ 225 degs

On watch last night with Jim storming along having what we thought was a great sale, Tim (the skipper) pops his head out in the middle of his sleep period and said in a very serious voice 'If the wind get stronger you should think about a reef'. I think what he really meant was 'why the heck you not got a reef in yet'. We took the hint immediately lol. Had a close look at a fishing vessel at the same time as a wind shift that got very interesting! An interesting nights sail to say the least. MN

Poirot and Hastings had convened the boats company to discuss the ongoing investigation into the case of the 'log entry' focusing, not only the discovery of the twenty pence piece, but now more mysteriously the disappearance of the said coin, when a sixth crew member landed on the deck in the form of a flying fish. Before the crew could recite the dead parrot sketch, Mason, with obvious tourettes syndrome asked 'where did that come from'..............................to a stunned silence 'George' forged ahead at a respectable 7 knots

After a terrible day yesterday (no Wind) And no fish caught... the wind picked up in true cruising fashion (on the nose)still its still wind... so we bounce ever onward. again I find my self in the happy position of awarding Steve another star on his Watch rota. He has produced a magnificent home cooked soda bread.... well it looks like bread so I thought I would award him the star before I had to taste it. Mason over cooked the pasta.
