Preparations continue with a lot of checks and improvements on the yacht. A new inner forestay and gooseneck toggle fitted. (for non-sailors the gooseneck connects the boom to the mast). Our freezer is now working but we realised it is more of a freezer to keep pre-frozen food frozen rather than freeze the 16 meals Caroline has cooked and placed in foil containers. Melissa and Daniel left the yacht last Saturday having decided that an Atlantic crossing was not for them. We have been joined by a friend of Viv and Steve’s to make up 5 crew in total. He is another Mike and comes from Oxford and has some previous sailing experience. Along with the preparations we have had some fun parties including the 60’s wig party and a fancy dress party which saw us in a Robin Hood theme. All set for the big ‘off’ on Sunday!
