Firefly - Arrived in Lanzarote

We arrived safely in Puerto Calero Lanzarote just after midnight. The last 24 hours of our 600 plus passage from Cascais saw some great down wind sailing both with spinnaker and later goose winged white sails. We sighted land just after 1500 and then surfed down the West coast enjoying a warm 20k breeze (30 at times - this coinciding with Paul cooking). We gradually picked up more details on the land and low flying aircraft approaching Arricife airport.

Firefly is lifted out tomorrow for a couple of days , she will get a scrub and antifoul and some extra TLC.

The frequency of our logs will slow for a while with just the odd photo post while Paul and Susie have a holiday in Lanzarote and then return home at the end of October, leaving Firefly in the sun. Murray and Peter fly home on Friday, Murray says; 'I am looking forward to a kitchen and bedroom that don't move!'

We fly back here on 19th November ready for the transatlantic stage of our trip to Antigua. We hope to be underway on 21st and arriving in Antigua by about 12th December.

Paul, Murray, Peter and Grateful
