Azzurra - Day 6- Tuesday-HALF WAY POINT

Well Azzurra made the half-way point today! At 12;03 ( 1503 UTC) ship's time and LAT N38 .28.5 LONG W 48.38" we had a Champaigne Celebration! We had Pancakes, Omelettes and beans! Well, we do have a Brit on board! It was a great feeling to be half way there, but also it marks an accomplishment we are proud of! Azzurra's auto-pilot had a clutch failure, but Ray was great and able to repair. We only had 3 shifts of manual steering. The crew was really thankful for the repairs! Great Job Ray!

We are cruising near Nyctea and Amelie d'Oslo and a few other boats. We can see them most of the time, especially at night! . It is comforting to know there are friends near by just in case and also great to have a short chat to see how they are doing.

I have never felt so blessed to be afforded such an opportunity to leave behind the whoos of work and enjoy just the basics of life- exploring near by territory and seeing the amazing sites of the world. But most of all, we are meeting such interesting people with the same spirit and desire to journey life on the water and where the wind will take us. We miss our 3 daughters, Ginny Anne, Grace and Sarah and my Mom- GIGI. But we know they will join us along the way and are sharing this us in spirit! And last but not least, I know my Dad would have enjoyed following us all the way and would had offered his advise which I miss so dearly since he passing. I know he is with us on this voyage and it lightens our hearts! Blue skys today!
